Overview
Anhui Xinfulong's Isostatic Pressed Flared PTFE Lined Pipes are precision-engineered for the most demanding chemical processing, semiconductor, and high-purity fluid handling applications. Manufactured in accordance with HG/T 4584-2014, the industry standard for isostatic pressed PTFE lined piping systems, our pipes combine the exceptional chemical resistance of PTFE with the superior mechanical strength and dimensional stability achieved through advanced isostatic pressing technology.
The manufacturing process begins with high-purity PTFE powder being isostatically pressed under pressures up to 30MPa in a closed isostatic autoclave. The PTFE tube blank is then sintered according to a precisely controlled temperature curve in a computer-controlled furnace. Following sintering, the PTFE liner is heated, pulled into the steel housing, and the ends are flared to create a secure, leak-tight seal. The flared ends are then locked into the steel flange assembly, creating a fully integrated, vacuum-rated piping system.
The Isostatic Pressing & Flaring Process
Isostatic Pressing is a forming method where PTFE powder is placed in a flexible mold within a high-pressure vessel. Liquid medium is injected and pressurized up to 30MPa. According to Pascal‘s principle, pressure is transmitted uniformly and equally in all directions, compressing the PTFE powder into a dense, voidless tube blank with homogeneous properties.
Key advantages of isostatic pressing:
-
Higher forming pressure produces significantly higher PTFE density compared to conventional molding methods
-
Superior permeation resistance due to the dense, voidless structure
-
Exceptionally uniform wall thickness — eliminating weak points and the risk of cracking under pressure
-
Meets or exceeds ASTM F1545 inspection standards — the highest standard for fluoropolymer lined piping
The Flaring Process:
-
Following sintering, the PTFE tube is heated and pulled into the steel housing
-
The ends are precision-flanged through a sequence of section trimming, heating, pressurization, flaring, cooling, and shaping
-
The flared ends are securely locked into the steel flange assembly, creating a fully integrated, leak-tight seal
-
This “relaxation installation” method accommodates differential thermal expansion between the PTFE liner and steel housing, preventing liner buckling and cracked flares under thermal cycling
